Energy saving bulbs are light
bulbs that consume less energy than the old
incandescent bulbs.

We were advised to throw away the classic light bulbs
and replace them with energy saving light bulbs, but
experts warns that the energy saving light bulbs should be
used as rarely as possible and away from us.
The Federal Government of most countries in the world banned the production of classic
light bulbs, forcing the energy saving light bulbs to the markets.So, why should we use
these light bulbs since they are harmful?
"They save Energy, but not your Life"
Researchers claim that these light bulbs are
extremely harmful. These light bulbs contain phenol,
naphthalene and a cancerous composition that can be
fatal during long-term exposure.
Phenol gets in the organism through the respiratory
tract disrupting the function of the organism and the heart performance.
According to a research that was published by the
Haifa University in Israel, the energy saving light bulbs
can increase the percentage of women suffering from
breast cancer by disrupting the body’s production of
the hormone melatonin.
There are also warnings that such light bulbs cause
migraine and dermatologists fear about the rise of skin
problems.
According to the expert,Anders Kirchner,these lamps
produce “electrical smog”, and they must be used
exclusively in well-ventilated rooms and away from where the position of the head is.
They consist of mercury!
If the light bulb falls down and breaks, the mercury that
comes out is dangerous for any living creature. Experts
adds that during the process most of the mercury
remains in the light bulb and only a small part of it
goes into the air – an amount that cannot harm the
health. Here are some advices in the event of breakage
of the bulb:
1)Open the windows to ventilate the room.
2) You have to gently wipe the place with a damp cloth
that you will later throw in a plastic bag.
3)With the sticky tape clean the broken glass and
throw it in a plastic bag.
4)You must not throw the waste in a bin. In this case it
is necessary for the bulb to be thrown in a location that is used for hazardous waste.
